Solo female traveller, came for 3 nights was very apprehensive as I've never stayed anywhere on my own before, prior to check in, I was messaged asking my time of arrival and it clashed with out of hours, I was given very detailed check in information via text message which was very easy to follow. When I arrived I found my way to my room. See pictures, a basic single room but very clean and comfortable bed. 5* from me, later I found my way to the hotel bar and met the lovely Lisa who took payment and served me at the bar also, very friendly and quiet place, again as I was nervous about being on my own this soon went away, whilst I was in the bar i had asked about an iron and board and Lisa took them straight up to my room and nothing was too much trouble at all, so a massive thank you to Lisa for the amazing multiple jobs she does here and for also putting me at ease. I've had a very comfortable 3nights here and would definitely come back here to stay when I return to the area, oh sampled a breakfast sandwich one of the mornings, didn't need to use regularly as most of my food was bought at the university but it was very tasty and if I had more time to eat here then I would recommend it, lovely catering staff in the morning too.

Much better then I expected . Decent room and a good quality shower . The location is abit out of the way and I struggled to get a taxi into town on Sunday morning . I ended up walking and it takes about 40 mins . They have a breakfast dining room area next to the hotel . Nice change of pace . The breakfast was enjoyable . In order to check in , you can get a code if you arrive later then 8 . I did this and it was a easy process. Honestly , one of favourite hotel stays outside of my normal fanfare . I was worried that the noise from the bar would disturb me but despite it being loud I couldn't hear anything in my room .

The staff really do make the effort in this place everyone is very welcoming and warm. The place is clean and comfortable, however the beds need replacing really, there was also a gate behind my room that really needed to be tied down or locked because it was banging against a wall in the wind most of the night, But I would stay here again because price was excellent and the staff were very nice, breakfast was perfect in gingers and I have no complaints.

I had a function here and stayed overnight. The function room was spot on and the staff were accommodating and polite. The room however, the bed was dusty and the bathroom stunk. The room itself was what you'd expect for a 2* but I feel that very easy changes could be made to improve it such as fresh painted skirtings to cover up marks there at the moment. I feel £68 for the night was expensive for what we received but I have took into consideration that it was a Saturday night. The manager also failed to tell me that there was no access to the function room 1400-1700 when I booked the it so had to decorate in a rush.Overall, the function was well worth it but I wouldn't stay here again.

The Embassy Hotel is exactly what you get on the tin. It is a cheap and cheerful place with a brilliant food service below. I've given this 5 stars because I have no complaints and it was 5* for what I needed it for which was a roof over my head after a night out. For those who prefer more privacy, this place will not be for use as all rooms share shower/bath/toilet facilities. You do have a sink in your room should the moment get too desperate. The food offered downstairs is brilliant and a complete contrast to the hotel side of things. You could come here just to eat regardless of where you were stopping.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a visit to see a family member. Bedroom was very clean with the addition of an en suite. Had breakfast in Gingers and Sarah couldn't have been more accommodating, was more than happy to make me a breakfast choice outwith the normal fare. Gingers itself had a lovely ambiance. Was a bit worried about the noise as the room was above the function room which was booked both nights I was there, bit no issues whatsoever. Will definitely stay here again on future visits.

We attended my sisters 60th birthday party at Embassy on Saturday night and would like to say what a fantastic evening it was from start to finish. The room was set out lovely with ample seating to accommodate all the guests, Louise ensured additional chairs were available as guests arrived. Even though there was a high demand for service at the bar, with the odd undesirable being rude and demanding, the bar staff handled things remarkably well and performed their duties professionally at all times in a polite and friendly manner. The prices at the bar were very reasonable and the standard of the alcoholic drinks were good. We were at a table of 16 and there was not one word of complaint regarding the price or standard. The buffet was plentiful and constantly re-stocked as the food was consumed. The choice of food was fantastic and a high standard and very enjoyable. There were many overloaded plates around the room. Once again from our large table of guests not one negative comment was made. The music from the DJ was responsive to the taste of the guests and his playlist accommodated everyone, this was evident from the constant flow of people enjoying themselves on the dance floor. The atmosphere on the night was very relaxed and comfortable and it seemed that the vast majority of people were having a fantastic night to celebrate my sister Paulines 60th birthday Would like to thank Embassy club and all the staff on shift that night for making the night special for my sister‘s birthday
